trapped in a lacuna

dispirited, distant, diminished

sagging heart

pounding in agony 

blurred memories

of a life

lived through

magnanimous affections

subjective linkages

a sole castoff and downsizing

tumbler's empty

affections leak

bonds retreat

whence forsaken

left with
